CAD Model Interfaces
What is a CAD Model Interface?¶
By default, Vericut includes the ability to use several industry-standard model file formats: STEP, STL, IGES and DXF.
Additionally, the following optional Model Interfaces enable Vericut to read the designated model file formats and use them as stock, fixture, design, tool holder and machine models. The modules do not require a CAD/CAM system be available for Vericut to read any of the formats.
Supported CAD Model Interfaces¶
- ACIS
- Catia V4
- Catia V5
- Creo
- NX Model Interface
- NX Interface
- SolidWorks
Microsoft Redistributables:¶
The CAD Model Interfaces may require the installation of Microsoft Redistributables, specifically the Windows C++ run-time libraries. These libraries ensure compatibility and proper functioning of the interface, allowing seamless data transfer between the CAD Model Interface and Vericut.
Note: A runtime library is a collection of low-level compiler support routines and functions that are used by virtually all programs compiled with GCC (GNU Compiler Collection) and can be downloaded here.
